Now that I seem to be working on DIY almost as much as I work on my blogs, I need to get organised. I get impatient with spending fifteen minutes assembling all the tools and accessories every time I want to start painting, so I am looking for a good tool storage

I remember when I used to want romantic christmas gifts and don’t get me wrong, I am still an old romantic at heart.  But this year I am asking for a cordless screwdriver/drill to help me when I am doing repairs to my buy to let properties. This will save me a lot of time and effort, leaving me in a more romantic mood when I get home.  See the logic?

My mother surprised me a few weeks ago when she announced that she would like to take a two week long cruise.  This has always seemed like a form of suffering to me, the thought of being trapped on a ship for days on end and unable to step on dry land!  I have never seen the attraction, however I got hold of a brochure from carnival cruises for her to check out.  Not sure about the cost, though….

I have to confess that I cannot get excited  over all the  various features  of a TV set in the way that the guys can do.  I was amazed at the way my partner was able to recite all the different technologies used by the major manufacturers, and tell me which ones had been trademarked.  With the introduction of HD flatscreen sets the specifications seem to get more and more complex.  Also with the need to save energy I have found out that certain models will stay on standby unless you go to the wall socket and unplug them, whereas others have a normal on off switch.  That gets my vote, and I have also come round to the idea that these new televisions need to be larger than before.  So we are now looking at a
pioneer 50 inch LCD that looks suitable for our needs.

You know how it feels when a particular film, TV series or star touches a nerve in you and you just want to know everything about them and collect as much as you can find that features their work or their photo? Did you also know that a complete dedicated online shop exists where you can get your fix of your favourite celebs and browse through thousands of different memorabilia to feed your need. I have had a look at the site and as far as I can tell you are likely to find pictures of your heroes or heartthrobs there. I have been a loyal customer at my current bank for more that fifteen years, and the reason is that they give great service.  Whatever I ask them to do - and at whatever time of day - they are there and it will be done.  My bank does not close, they are there twenty four hours a day so i can ring up and make changes to my checking account whenever I feel the need.

I am doing some contract work for a small business and I was quite taken aback to find out how much they are being charged for their day to day telephone calls. I have not got the most tech aware mindset in the world and I realise that dealing with hardware connections or software installations usually turns into a nightmare because most of us do it very rarely. My other excuse is that I was working in a large organisation and for the last couple of years there was a reliable help desk, where I could simply ring up and say ‘I need help with my HDMI cables, and it would all be done for me.

I am getting a little concerned about the amount of weight I have gained in a rather short time since starting a sedentary job. Obviously any intelligent person should be able to calculate that this means reducing the number of calories consumed every day, but in practice we all find that harder to achieve. If you go to one of the online tools that show the inbound links to your blog or website, you might see that the first page on the search engine results pages (SERPS) has a summary. This may say there are 200 links, but when you go to the later pages the number of results comes down to fifty or sixty. You will also get the message “In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 35 already displayed.If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.”
