Bloggers need to get their blogs read - regularly - by targeted readers and one way that most of us try to increase our readership is by submitting out blogs to blog community sites. These sites can also provide good one-way backlinks to your website or blog, unlike many of the directories which have worthless listing pages with hundreds of links. Two of the biggest are MyBlogLog and Blog Catalog and for quite a while I got the two sites confused but there are some differences and some varying opinions on how useful they can be. I finally have the Agloco toolbar installed, this is a day I sometimes doubted would ever happen. I was informed that the toolbar was ready just over two weeks ago but when I tried to download my laptop simply seized up. In view of all the software glitches that Agloco has been experiencing, I was not surprised. Then at the end of last week I got an email reminder from the company. They have now outsourced the toolbar software to tucows, and I downloaded it without difficulty from there. I have 0.5 hours credited tgo my Agloco account - woohoo!

I have set up four Squidoo Lenses because I noticed that other internet marketers were singing the praises of Squidoo for wealth creation and creating backlinks to your web sites or blogs. However, four months later I have earned the princely sum of $2.57. I created one lens on how to deal with acne, which got quite a few votes but I’m not seeing the cash to back it up. If you are wondering how Squidoo works it is fairly simple. You create an account and then you can set up numerous lenses - these are your own pages. Squidoo explains them thus:
‘A lens is one person’s view on a topic that matters to her. It’s an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, your eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and more.’
