Watchword

I was looking around today for an appropriate wedding gift for my fiance at our forthcoming wedding. He want a really good quality watch, the type that will not date and will still look really good in twenty years’ time. I searched around and came across the Italian designer brand of Anonimo. The quality timepieces are made with precision in the heart of Tuscany - my favourite area of Italy. The watched are made in limited editions, making them even more covetable and, hpefully, this boosts their resale value. Strange name for an exclusive fashion house, really, since it means ‘anonymous’. The guy who founded the company ten years ago is called Federico Massacesi. He sees the timpieces as part of the owner’s personality. This is a refreshingly different approach from some other major watch designers, where the brand seems to dominate the wearer.

Massacesi started off working with another major Italian designer, Salvatore Ferragamo before starting his own successful brand. To celebrate ten years of success the company launched ten limited edition new designs, some of them featuring Massacesi’s signature bronze dial detail, this time with a special anniversary inscription on the dial. The entire range at Anonimo has top quality Swiss ETA movements for high precision timekeeping. The anonimo watch has become famous over the last decade for restoring the tradition of Florentine watchmaking, and has made many innovations including highly water resistant straps as well as mechanisms, meaning that wearers are fully protected from water damage of their precious wrist watches.
